This is a long-expected book—preliminary versions have been circulating on the internet for years. As the title indicates, the aim of the book is to express in modern language some of the results in classical algebraic geometry obtained in the 19th (sometimes 20th) century. Some of these results can occasionally be found scattered in the modern literature, but this is certainly the first book devoted entirely to classical topics.
